a&o signs multi-million pound support contract with Sun Microsystems

Three year extension to Sun support services deal which spans UK, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Ireland

22 April 2008: a&o Systems + Services UK ltd, a leading European provider of IT services & support, today announced it has agreed a new contract with Sun Microsystems to deliver field and onsite support services to Sun’s client base in the UK, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Ireland. Sun has extended the relationship based on a&o’s track record of consistently delivering against Service Level Agreements for its client support services.

Under the terms of the three year agreement, a&o will continue to deliver hardware maintenance and installation services to Sun and its customers, including break / fix support, maintenance of storage devices and management of patch and firmware updates.

a&o has a number of engineers placed in the field across the UK, and additional engineers based onsite at various Sun clients. Each Sun support call is managed by a&o’s dynamic scheduling system, which intelligently distributes support resources to ensure that response times are as quick as possible. The efficiency this provides was a key reason for the contract extension - a&o has consistently met a range of client Service Level Agreements.
