Re-accreditation of ISO 9001 reiterates a&o’s commitment to service excellence

Rapid rollout of SaaS ITSM tool creates dramatic business process efficiencies

1st April 2009: a&o systems + services UK Ltd., the leading European provider of IT services & support, have again been accredited to; ISO 9001 (Quality Management),
ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), PAS99 (Integrated Management Systems), with zero non-conformances being recorded.

Since 1993, a&o have grown a portfolio of quality accreditations and have evolved a client-focused Business Management System of policies and processes that support our end-to-end business model of continuous improvement. This year, we have improved on this by being upgraded without issue to the new version of ISO 9001.

About every ten years each ISO standard is updated and renewed to ensure they keep pace with changing business requirements. A new version of ISO 9001 was published late in 2008 with a greater emphasis on risk management as well some tightening-up of some of the existing requirements e.g. measurements such as KPIs. Any business that aspires to, or wishes to continue with it's, accreditation to the standard must go through a reappraisal to make sure their existing system (including policies and procedures) are fit for upgrade, so alongside our normal assessment schedule we have this time been successfully accredited to the new BS EN ISO 9001:2008 standard.

The core assessment a range of department, including Operations (Incident Management and Hardware Support), Service Partner Management, Service Desk, IT Support, Customer Administration Team and Facilities. Additionally a review of our auditing programme, complaints system, service improvement plans, environmental management and customer satisfaction programme were assessed for compliance. Paul Smith, Quality Manager at a&o comments; “Continuous testing and achievement of these standards means that our clients can be sure of our commitment to service excellence.”
